Deerwood Arboretum is located in Brentwood, Tennessee just a few miles south of Nashville off I-65. From the Old Hickory Boulevard exit go west to Granny White Pike, turn south and proceed to Belle Rive Drive and turn right into the Belle Rive subdivision. Go about 1.3 miles and turn right onto Deerwood Lane. The park is .4 of a mile further at the end of Deerwood Lane. Hours are from Dawn to Dusk. The road into and out of the park is narrow, it leads to a roundabout near the parking area.

The one mile paved trail circles two ponds and the northern leg runs along side the Little Harpeth River. The trail is level and easy to walk as it meanders through open and wooded sections. It is open to walkers, joggers and the casual biker and skateboarder. No motorized vehicles are allowed. There are several resting benches along the trail with views of the ponds. The Little Harpeth River can be viewed from several spots with benches nearby for quiet repose. Wildlife spotting might include deer, squirrel, fox, butterflies and birds.

The park covers 27 acres and is a State of Tennessee cetified Arboretum. An extensive variety of trees and shrubs are cultivated here and identified by tags for your education, observation and pleasure. Maps marking the locations of different trees and plants are located near the entrance and also at the parking area.

Near the parking lot is the picnic pavilion and small amphitheater. The facilities can only be reserved by local schools, boy and girl scout groups, etc. for educational purposes, but may be enjoyed by visitors when not in use. There are several picnic tables for the lunchtime guests. The bathrooms are usually closed except for special events.
