Appalachian Center for Craft

The Appalachian Center for Craft is home to one of the premier retailers of fine craft in the Southeast. The Gallery features contemporary and traditional fine craft by Craft Center faculty, resident artists, advanced students, and over 100 regional craft artists.

Experience the art of contemporary fine craft while visiting the gallery at the Appalachian Center for Craft. Our 2700 square foot sales gallery features handblown glass, jewelry, functional and sculptural ceramics and woodturning, original designed textiles, blacksmithing, custom knives and furniture.

The Appalachian Center for Craft is located on over 500 wooded acres overlooking Center Hill Lake in scenic Middle Tennessee near the town of Smithville. The facility was built in 1979 and exceeds 87,000 square feet of spacious studios, gallery, exhibitions, administrative offices, library, cafe, student housing and meeting/audio visual rooms.

The Craft Center is approximately 60 miles east of Nashville and 120 miles west of Knoxville; and only 25 miles west of TTU's main campus in Cookeville.

Tennessee Craft Fairs

Each Spring and Fall Centennial Park hosts the Tennessee Craft Fairs. Come and explore unique arts and crafts perfect for gifts and collectors. Talk with the artists and see some work as you stroll through hundreds of booths. The Spring dates are May 2, 3 and 4, the Fall dates are September 26, 27 and 28 of 2014. Friday and Saturday hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
