Retail Art Galleries

Nashville has many art galleries featuring local and national artists. The Nashville art scene is vibrant and growing. You will find new and long established galleries featuring crafts, paintings, sculpture and mixed media. The downtown arcade has become a home for several new spaces to view art. We may be known for music and songwriting but Nashville is home to talented artists of the visual arts as well. To see more information check out Retail Art Galleries.

Centennial Art Center Lobby

City Art Galleries

Metro Nashville Parks maintains two public gallery spaces. Both are located in Centennial Park on West End Avenue. One gallery is within the Parthenon and one is housed in the Centennial Art Center. The Art Center hosts a variety of art and artists. It is free to visit. The Parthenon houses a permanent collection of 63 works by 19th and 20th century artists donated by James M. Cowan. The gallery also has space for temporary exhibits and shows. There is a small charge to enter the Parthenon. The main floor of the Parthenon is the home of Athena, the largest piece of indoor sculpture in the Western world. It stands 41 feet 10 inches tall and to see it is worth the admission price alone. You can see art displayed at the Nashville Airport, Tennessee Arts Commission and the Nashville Main Library. To see more information check out City Art Galleries.
